THE CASTING FLOOR

In building on the old casting floor of Bellefonte Furnace, Reverend Garda's vision for the future was that Community Presbyterian would continue the work of Bellefonte Furnace – casting the raw materials for the work of the kingdom on the casting floor of the church.

From the Pastor

Law school was an oddly designed thing, it seemed to me. We studied all semester long, receiving no grades at all. At the end of the semester, though, we got our one and only chance to prove we had picked up something during the semester about the subject under consideration. We had a final. If you passed the final, you passed the course. If you didn't.... well ...you didn't.

Life with our Father isn't like that. The church year starts with Advent, flows through Christmas and Epiphany to Lent, Easter, the Seven Sundays of Easter and Pentecost. During those times, we walk through the life of Jesus, hoping to live with Him, experience with Him and learn with Him the cost of discipleship.

Then, comes Ordinary Time, which we will enter after Trinity Sunday. Ordinary Time is the final. We get to see if we can apply what we have experienced. In short, we see how far we have progressed on our spiritual journey.

Unlike law school, though, our Father forgives our failings. There will always be opportunities to re-study, re-pray and re-walk with Jesus.

Join us for Ordinary Time at Community Presbyterian Church, 605 Bellefonte Princess Road, Bellefonte Kentucky
