This Sunday is "Transfiguration Sunday", the last Sunday before the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday, which falls on February 6 this year.

With Ash Wednesday, we begin the 46 day period of Lent, culminating in Easter, the celebration of the Resurrection. Transfiguration Sunday has a lot more to it than a miracle on a mountain.
